Do you even know what it is?
Hold up a minute and I’ll explain this…
Faith is believing when you have no belief. Faith is knowing you will recover that relief.
Faith is a bird that sings in the night, even though there is no sign of light
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, and evidence of things not seen galore!
Faith is love you feel in your heart, even when you feel so very far apart.
Faith knows problems will soon go away, and then having assurance things will be okay.
Faith is prayer without any concern, knowing deep down every word is heard.
But once you receive it, you better believe it…
FAITH without WORKS is DEAD.

Brandie Cowden Bauer is a Shreveport woman who has overcome tremendous odds and has had the distinct privilege of living two very different lives. She currently works as one of the most successful men’s barbers in the city of Shreveport and maintains a sense of quiet humility and indomitable dignity as she strives to be a better person with every new day. The poems and thoughts that she is submitting to Henry Harbor were written at a very different time in her life, when she was struggling to begin a path towards redemption and finding a new purpose in life. She hopes that her words will inspire other men and women to be true to themselves and to use art to express their hopes for the future.
