The question, more often than not, is more important than the answer.
“Peace for Our Time” was spoken on 30 September 1938 by British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain upon the conclusion of the Munich Agreement. Two years later London was on fire and the world was at war.
Regarding his first impression of Hitler, Chamberlain commented: “In spite of the hardness and ruthlessness I thought I saw in his face, I got the impression that here was a man who could be relied upon when he had given his word.”
Regarding his impression of the Western Allies, Hitler would later say: “Our enemies are little worms. I saw them at Munich.”
Do you confront the foe with force? Do you pay them with land? Do you allow them to build a nation, empire or religion that subjugates, murders, and destroys ? To what lengths would you go for peace? What is the best course of action to secure it?
